The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Philips Medical Systems MR, a division of Royal Philips Electronics N.V., was formed in March 2000 to provide a strong focus for the development and commercialization of HTS technology for applications that benefit from high energy density, high magnetic fields and environmental benefits, including energy technology, alternative energy, medical technology, general industry, transportation, military, space and scientific research.
